Add your Business into Google Maps and Google My Business

In order to create and have control over your Google Maps listing, you need to have a Google account. If you already have a Gmail account, then you have a Google account as well. If you don’t have one, just create a new account here:

Step 1. Log into you Google account (Gmail)

Step 2. Open Google Maps:

Step 3. Search for your Business Name.

If your business is not listed already, you will get a result similar to this

Step 4. Click on Add a missing place

You will see this screen (Don’t fill the form)

Step5. Click on Claim this business

Step6. A new tab will open.

Fill the form, following the instructions

Step 7. After filling the business details (Name, Address, Category, contact details, etc.), a new screen will appear with instructions to verify your business

Now follow the steps to verify your business.


If in Step 4 you discover that your business is already listed, click on Are you the business owner?

Then follow the steps to Claim and verify your business.


Sometimes, depending on Google’s chosen method for verification, it can take up to two weeks until you have control over your business.

Still, it is an easy process and you will get the following:

  1. Your business found on Google Search & Maps
  2. Respond to reviews
  3. Upload photos to Google Maps and to Google Search (it will show on the right side, when people are searching for your business)
